Mark gets mugged on his way back from work by two teenagers, who steal his beloved Blackberry. And when Sophie comes on strong to him, he can't get aroused because he's pre-occupied by the muggers. He's a man obsessed.
Meanwhile, Jeremy is eagerly awaiting the return of the love of his life, Big Suze, but he faces a big dilemma when he's offered a threesome by another girl. Living on the horns of this dilemma turns Jeremy to heavier and heavier drinking.
As Jeremy's drinking leads to a scrape with a monk, Mark has his big showdown with the muggers and manages to surprise Sophie with his performance.

Merry, an eccentric old friend from university, is back on the scene, and things are looking up for Jeremy when she offers him the chance to manage a pub she owns.
Jeremy asks Super Hans to become his business partner but they argue the whole time because Super Hans refuses to serve beer in the pub.
Meanwhile Mark and Sophie are finally beginning to go steady, but Sophie is moved away from London for work. Mark is devastated, so Sophie offers phone sex as a solution, which Mark nervously accepts.
Merry's behaviour becomes odder and odder, and Mark and Jeremy are forced to consider getting their friend sectioned. And Jeremy realises that sectioning could be a good way of ridding his life of other problem people too!

Jeremy plans to throw a secret magic mushroom party in the flat, where he hopes to seduce his ex, Big Suze. But when Mark suddenly arrives home from work with gastric flu, Jeremy's plans go to pieces.
Meanwhile, in a moment of panic, Super Hans does some violent damage to the toilet door; and the builder they call in is equally unhinged. And Jeremy is forced into drastic action when a very ill Mark threatens to ruin the vibe at the mushroom party.

Meanwhile Sophie, who's been away on business, pays Mark a visit with her new gay friend, Dom. Mark is forced to go to a gay club, where he pretends to take drugs with the others. In an effort to look believable, he asks Jeremy for tips on how to act 'high'.
Jeremy soon realises his defendant girlfriend is nothing but trouble but he is faced with a huge dilemma: should he call for a guilty verdict merely to get rid of her?

Mark is worried that he's drifting apart from Sophie, so immediate action is called for: he must propose. Ever the romantic, he takes her on a mini-break to the Quantock Hills in Somerset, but their weekend goes badly; they bicker constantly and, worse still, Mark can never seem to find the right moment to pop the question.
Meanwhile Jeremy travels up to the same hotel with Super Hans, who is planning to use the weekend to go 'cold turkey'. At night, Mark and Jeremy get seriously lost on the moors and are even forced to ration Mark's chocolate bar. Will they ever find their way back to the hotel, and will Mark ever propose to Sophie?
