Unaware they're now being hunted by Brooks and Thompson on the orders of Jimmy's daughter, the mysterious Terri, Kim finally stands up to her mum. Tina wants to get back to the safety of their Scottish hideout immediately. But Kim wants to experience what the real world has to offer, although she secretly plans to scatter her Dad's ashes while she's at it. Tina reluctantly agrees to just one day of fun.

On a trip to the seaside funfair, Tina's constant antagonism towards him pushes Nicky to expose Tina's controlling lies. But getting Kim to see the truth is trickier than he thought, until a trip to the supermarket opens Kim's eyes to the extent of her mother's control and deceit.

As a confused and furious Kim gives Tina the slip with Nicky, Beth confronts Jay at work with the bag of stolen cash which he hasn't returned. As Brooks and Thompson close in, Kim's attempt to scatter her Dad's ashes ends in complete disaster and Kim is deeply hurt by the revelation of yet another of Tina's lies.
