Maisie Adam, Sophie Duker, Olga Koch and Catherine Bohart are piloting a new comedy travelogue for Channel 4, British Comedy Guide can exclusively reveal.

The quartet shot a hour-long, non-broadcast taster for Gullible's Travels in Finland in December, in temperatures of -22 degrees and with only two hours of daylight a day.

Details of the itinerary on the five-day trip have yet to emerge, but images posted on social media show them trying out a reindeer-driven sleigh, visiting the world's northernmost McDonald's and meeting Santa Claus.

Bohart wrote: "Just did 5 days filming something very exciting with 3 incredible women and the greatest crew a freezing bunch of gals could hope for! Also, Finland has the nicest public bathrooms and the weirdest Jesus I've ever seen."

A rare example of younger female comics being given the opportunity to make a television travel programme, Gullible's Travels is produced for Potato (CelebAbility, My Favourite Sketch) by Allanah Langstaff.

Langstaff's credits include Joanne McNally's recent sex positive travelogue pilot for E4 with her podcast co-host Vogue Williams, with the working title Sex Drive, as well as Sue Perkins: Perfectly Legal on Netflix and The Misadventures Of Romesh Ranganathan for BBC Two.

Channel 4 will shortly air Chris McCausland's show The Wonders Of The World That I Can't See. Other recent comedian-fronted travel shows from the broadcaster include Rosie Jones's Trip Hazard and Jon Richardson's pilot Take My Mother-In-Law, plus the long-established Travel Man, which has run for 11 series since 2015, initially presented by Richard Ayoade and now by Joe Lycett.

Gullible's Travels has previously been the title for a memoir of travel tales by Billy Connolly and a children's book by US talk show host Steve Allen.

BCG has approached Channel 4 for further comment on the pilot.
