Sara Pascoe is returning to host a second series of Guessable on Comedy Central, British Comedy Guide can exclusively reveal.

John Kearns will reprise his role as co-host and Alan Davies and Darren Harriott are also back as team captains.

Production on the parlour game panel show has been underway since December and its run has been extended, with 12 episodes of the hour-long format ordered after Guessable Series 1 became Comedy Central's second highest-rated launch for an original UK commission.

Guests on the new series, which is expected to air later this year, are yet to be revealed. Previous contestants have included Jason Manford, Tom Allen, Aisling Bea, Russell Kane, Phil Wang, Dane Baptiste and Kiri Pritchard-McLean.

Made by Tuesday's Child Television, the original series run for eight episodes in the autumn, and enjoyed repeats on Channel 5 and Comedy Central Extra.

Guessable debuted with 246,000 viewers for its opening episode on Comedy Central and finished with 184,000.

Sebastian Cardwell, deputy director of programmes at ViacomCBS Networks UK said: "Guessable proved incredibly popular with our audience, and I'm delighted that we are bringing this back to Comedy Central for a second series. Combined with the outstanding comedic talent and hilarious format, this new series will continue to bring some much-needed fun and entertainment to our viewers."

Pascoe, who wrote and starred in her own BBC sitcom, Out Of Her Mind, last year, is recording a stand-up set for the corporation's Festival Of Funny this week.

The comic will also host another series of Comedians Giving Lectures for Dave and has begun work on two new books, a non-fiction exploration of murder and her first novel.
