ITV is to pilot a new panel show format involving comedy impressionists.

The Imitation Game will be hosted by Alexander Armstrong and feature four impressionists.

Describing the show as "fast-paced", the producers explain: "Hosted by funnyman Alexander Armstrong, The Imitation Game is a new comedy panel show with a celebrity twist. Top impressionists Rory Bremner and Debra Stephenson together with Britain's Got Talent's Jess Robinson and rising star Luke Kempner are challenged to perform their stunning big name impersonations in a series of witty rounds and hilarious games."

They add: "So what will happen when Donald Trump rubs shoulders with Cheryl Cole, or Boris Johnson duets with Adele?"

This will be Alexander Armstrong's second panel for ITV this year. He recently hosted the interactive Don't Ask Me Ask Britain for the channel.

Veteran impressionist Rory Bremner and Dead Ringers star Debra Stephenson will be joined by Jess Robinson and Luke Kempner, both of whom have been working on Radio 4's The Now Show recently.

Robinson, who is known for live shows in which she performs musical impressions, has recently been working on Horrible Histories. Meanwhile Kempner's TV and radio CV includes playing multiple roles in Murder In Successville.

The Imitation Game will be recorded in front of a studio audience in Elstree on Friday 7th July. Tickets
