The BBC has confirmed it has ordered a new TV series called All Round To Mrs Brown's.

Based around the central character from hit sitcom Mrs Brown's Boys, the entertainment show will air on Saturday nights later this year.

They explain: "The mammy of BBC Comedy, Mrs Brown, is inviting the nation round to her house for a brand new Saturday night TV show, All Round To Mrs Brown's."

Producers say: "Agnes is about to open the door of her very familiar family home, as mammy makes mischief with celebrity guests, surprise audience shenanigans and outrageous stunts, all in front of a live studio audience... what could possibly go wrong?!"

The series order follows a non-broadcast trial episode which was recorded in Glasgow in October. The show is being made by Hungry Bear Media alongside star Brendan O'Carroll's own production company, BocPix.

Brendan O'Carroll says: "The entire cast is excited by this. I think Agnes may be worried that she'll need a bigger kettle to make tea for everyone that's coming round!"

Executive Producer Dan Baldwin comments: "It's a genuine pleasure to team up with Brendan, Jenny and the entire Mrs Brown cast. They are brilliantly funny and we hope to take that magical humour from the sitcom and transfer it into a truly outstanding entertainment show for the whole country."

Brendan O'Carroll adds: "I have been waiting some time to work with Dan Baldwin and Hungry Bear. It is so exciting now to team up for this. Similarly one of the things that everyone at BocPix enjoys about working with the BBC is that we are always given the encouragement to explore new ideas - like we did with the live episode of Mrs Browns Boys in July."

Charlotte Moore, Director of BBC Content, comments: "Bringing one of our biggest comedy stars Mrs Brown to Saturday nights in 2017 with a new entertainment show is going to be full of fun and mischief and totally unpredictable, I can't wait!"

Kate Phillips, Controller of Entertainment Commissioning, adds: "We all agree it's high time some of our bravest celebrities experienced a slice of the world according to Agnes and I can't think of a finer or funnier format to do this in."

Commissioner Alan Tyler says: "Brendan is a truly special talent and in Mrs Brown he has created someone who is loved by our audience. We are thrilled that Agnes is throwing her doors open and cannot wait to see what Brendan, Jenny and the brilliant cast have in store for those who step inside."

All Round To Mrs Brown's will launch later in the year.
