The description for the show is as follows: "Two celebrity team captains will go head to head in a series of outrageous and ridiculous challenges, but they won't be doing it alone as they have been asked to hand-pick their very own team members, made up of people from their everyday lives... neighbours, newsagents, pub landlords, celebrity mates and punters they've snatched off the street. With their armies in tow, all the captains have to do is pick the right person for the right game."

The format has been devised and is being produced by Zeppotron, the production company behind 8 Out Of 10 Cats, 10 O'Clock Live and Would I Lie To You?.

A pilot episode will be filmed at Pinewood Studios on Thursday 14th March, and producers are currently seeking a studio audience. The tickets advert states "There may be some audience participation so if you're up for a laugh, like your comedy and love a good game then you'll definitely love You And Whose Army?". You And Whose Army? is one of a number of entertainment pilots that Sky1 is testing out. Other shows in development include Help Me I'm Human hosted by Jo Brand and trivia based show Duck Quacks Don't Echo with Lee Mack.

Last month Jason Manford, who rose to fame via his stand-up shows and appearance on 8 Out Of 10 Cats, acted as one of the team captains on new topical ITV panel show pilot Oh What A Week! and last year took the lead role in Naked House, an ITV sitcom pilot about a family of nudists.

On Saturday, Manford will act as one of the judges on Let's Dance For Comic Relief. Writing on Facebook, he said: "When I did it a few years ago I made a little book of 'talent show judge clich├ęs'. I'm gonna do it again as it got a bit of a laugh."
