Episode menu

Series 4, Episode 2 - A Young Man's Fancy

Eli buys a car for his girlfriend and it goes straight to her head - in fact, she decides that Nellie isn't going to live with them when she marries Eli for his cash!

Further details

Eli's brought a fur coat, not for him to wear (as Stan thinks he'll look a real bobby dazzler in it), but for his girlfriend Marlene. Nellie is disgusted as she thought it was for her and makes no bones about trying to stop Eli getting married. Marlene soon makes it known that when they are married, Nellie is out of the house!

Outraged, Nellie, Lily and Walter go round to check up on Eli's bride to be, and they find her in the house with a young man, later found to be her son. Now this doesn't bother Eli, but what does is the fact she lied about her dad owning his own pub. Eli is devastated so the wedding is off, and Nellie receives her fur coat at last.
