Inside No. 9 review

The whole tale was so arch it was bent double. But no one has said 'bomb' in such a silly accent since the Pink Panther movies. I defy you not to snigger.

Christopher Stevens, Daily Mail, 11th May 2021

Inside No. 9 review

The prospect of a new series of Inside No. 9 is delicious. Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton are surely now at national treasure status. So it pains me to say that I didn't much enjoy last night's offering, which Gemma Whelan explained to camera was a cross between commedia dell'arte and a heist movie, but felt to me largely like a drama students' circle jerk.

Carol Midgley, The Times, 11th May 2021

Inside No 9: Wuthering Heist review

Wuthering Heist is another ambitious episode, bringing back Inside No 9 with a bang that should satisfy all the fans who have been eagerly awaiting it. Even, maybe, those on internet fan boards...

Steve Bennett, Chortle, 11th May 2021

TV: Inside No 9, Wuthering Heist, BBC Two

Last week I was mildly mocked on social media for describing a programme that some people didn;t like the sound of as "eagerly anticipated". I think it is fair, however, to describe the new series of Inside No. 9 as eagerly anticipated without risking a big lawsuit landing in my inbox with a virtual thwack.

Bruce Dessau, Beyond The Joke, 10th May 2021

Inside No. 9 review

Anthology series Inside No. 9 only gets weirder and takes more risks the longer it goes on. Three cheers for an audacious return.

Louisa Mellor, Den Of Geek, 10th May 2021

Inside No. 9 review

A bewildering and dramatic amuse-bouche.

Sean O'Grady, The Independent, 10th May 2021

Inside No. 9 review

Silly, often childish and yet dexterous and smart, this was writers Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton at their best.

Emily Baker, i Newspaper, 10th May 2021

Inside No. 9 review

Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith return with a new season of their anthology series, and it's a gloriously clever take on heist movies.

Anita Singh, The Telegraph, 10th May 2021

If you want televised theatre, watch Inside No. 9

Reservoir Dogs meets Benny Hill via Fleabag - Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith's series returns with a madcap genre-busting heist flick.

Benji Wilson, The Telegraph, 10th May 2021

Inside No. 9 review

The new series gets off to a strong start with a very silly (but undeniably fun) premiere.

David Craig, Radio Times, 10th May 2021

Inside No. 9 review

Shearsmith and Pemberton are back on scintillating form with their new set of darkly comic half hours.

Brian Donaldson, The List, 10th May 2021

Inside No. 9 review: Wuthering Heist

The first episode of Season 6 is the perfect way to reassure any doubters that the show is as fresh as ever.
