Every version of Blockbusters there's ever been
As a new version of Blockbusters hosted by Dara O Briain arrives, we revisit the gameshow's previous incarnations...
Louisa Mellor, Den Of Geek, 22nd March 2019The once futuristic and now pleasingly retro student quiz returns for another (gold) run, this time with Dara O Briain in charge. As you might expect, the humour has been cranked up - fuzzy mascots get an intro alongside their matriculated owners - but otherwise it's still the same snappy battle of buzzers and wits.
Graeme Virtue, The Guardian, 21st March 2019Blockbusters review
Given that the channel are certainly putting considerable effort into the show, I can see it certainly being more successful than its past revivals, although deep down it will be hard to match Holness's original.
Ian Wolf, On The Box, 21st March 2019Will the Blockbusters reboot be a success?
This latest iteration of Blockbusters plays it admirably straight, although O'Briain is far wittier and more down with the kids than Holness.
