Eight and a half million viewers watched Are You Being Served? on BBC One on Saturday nights when it was rescreened in Spring/Summer 1998, in the silver jubilee year of the series first transmission. UK Gold is continually re-running episodes and in the US it is one of the most popular cable TV programmes on the West Coast.
