Reeves and Mortimer: Poignant Moments tour review

Not everything works 100 per cent. Though plenty love him, I'm still not convinced by Dr Shakamoto, probably because of that dodgy East Asian accent ('I rive in Reeds') - even though they try to head off such criticism with a preceding sketch in which Lovejoy has an hilariously misjudged Jamaican brogue. But all in this is a wonderful reminder of this way this creative duo forged a unique niche in British comedy. You'll be glad that when it comes to their classic material, they did not let it lie.

Comedy review: 25 Years Of Reeves And Mortimer

Well, they just wouldn't let it lie. Having spent the first 15 years of the 21st century away from the live arena, and with a series of small screen setbacks under their belts (the canning of Shooting Stars, the ditching of House Of Fools and the online catastrophe that was their ill-titled Afternoon Delights), Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer chose a relatively safe set for their 25th anniversary tour.

Brian Donaldson, The Scotsman, 5th February 2016

Like QI but without all the difficult stuff, As Yet Untitled brings you amusing chat, skilfully directed to a destination via some anecdotal coordinates. Rounded human personas do better in this environment than people who seem to be rehearsing new material, and so it proves tonight, where Russell Kane spends yet more time talking about his mum. More enjoyable are Lucy Montgomery, who has had trouble in Iran, and Bob Mortimer, who explains how he became "the cockroach king" and his generosity with M&S vouchers.

Radio Times review

We know from past experience that the out-takes Would I Lie to You? puts on the end-of-series leftovers platter aren't disappointing. Far from it.

Would I Lie to You? has such a rich seam of comedy that routines as enjoyable as David Mitchell discussing his alleged jigsaw habit ("I find it incredibly irritating when other people fiddle with my jigsaws...") or Clare Balding speaking in German end up on the cutting-room floor.

There are the usual flashes of Lee Mack's ad-lib brilliance here, but best of all is a weepingly funny tour de force from Bob Mortimer, stoutly maintaining that he had a pet owl he used to carry around on a cushion.
