Edinburgh Comedy Award Nominee 2009 Carl Donnelly returns to the Fringe with another hour of 'impossibly effortless' (Fest) stand-up. As seen on Russell Howard's Good News and Live at the Comedy Store, Carl has won a host of awards for his brand of unbridled silliness. 'Gripping, unmissable stand-up. In Donnelly's hands, something as simple as getting out of bed can be the springboard to a hilarious anecdote' (Guardian). You are advised to come see what all the fuss is about! **** (Herald); **** (List); **** (Fest).

Fringe Q&A: What do your parents think?

We asked some of the comedians heading up to the Fringe how many times their parents have seen them perform. Some acts have very supportive mums and dads it would appear... but not everyone in this list can say that.

Carl Donnelly - problematic

A chat with 2009 Best Newcomer nominee Carl Donnelly...

Tommy Holgate, The Sun, 29th July 2010

More details

Never one to keep his tongue in his cheek for long, last year's Edinburgh Award Best Newcomer nominee Carl Donnelly returns with a show about his rising 'fame', how suddenly he has found himself in a strange limbo of no longer being anonymous, but being far from famous. Recently married (which always gives a comic masses of material), Carl has noticed a considerable lack of confidence in anything other than comedy...

Last year's show, Relax Everyone, It's Carl Donnelly, proved Carl to be one of today's rising stars. His laid-back attitude, conversational style and silly sense of humour won him a prestigious Edinburgh Newcomer Award nomination, adding to his already growing list of awards and nominations since he started out in comedy only 5 years ago.

Most recently Carl appeared on Russell Howard's Good News for the BBC, Grouchy Young Men and The Comedy Store for Comedy Central and popped up on our screens throughout Christmas on the marathon show The Noughties, also for the BBC. Carl has toured with top comics such as Russell Howard, Jim Jefferies and Rhod Gilbert and last autumn became the first ever comedian to support a DJ when he opened for DJ Yoda on a string of high profile shows throughout the UK. You are advised to come and see what all the fuss is about.
