500 Greatest Films Page 4

Agree totally. I did like the guy with the 'air gun'. Tarantino has copied that in Hell Ride.

Hell Ride? By Tarantino? What is this? Are you sure that's something by The T?

EDIT:
Knew it rang a bell somewhere, so I've checked IMDB, and like I thought, QT neither wrote or directed it. So the guy who did maybe copied. Or it could just be a coincidence.

How can 'The Odd Couple' not be in that list?? Best comedy film ever.

And 'The Ladykillers' (original version)

'The Good, The Bad & The Ugly' and 'Cinema Paradiso' are the greatest films, in my opinion. Wave

Indiana Jones SHOULD be in the top ten!!

Damn straight! *looks around for other Indy dissenters*

QT is Executive Producer, sorry for any confusion. :)

Great film. The less said about the remake the better.

Sure, but not writer, so he wouldn't be the copy cat. Not that he isn't a copy cat in all his other films, mind.

OK, I wasn't really having a go at him, just stating a comparison to No Country For Old Men.

A list like this is void if in the top 10 Casablanca isn't included....and Conan the Barbarian!

Casablanca? Are you. like, eighty?! Not that I've ever seen it though, just chucking an ill informed opinion around, its a hobby of mine.

My top ten would include, in no particular order:

Ed Wood
Dawn of the Dead (1978)
The Usual Suspects
King of Comedy
Goodfellas
Fargo
Blood Simple
The Truman Show
The Odd Couple
Pulp Fiction

Speaking of Tarantino, a couple of weeks ago I noticed him in an episode of the Golden Girls, from 20 years ago. He was just an extra, playing an Elvis impersonator. His name was in the credits.

Thats a pretty classy top ten. King Of Comedy is brilliant.

It is. An incredible to think the studio weren't happy with it so they didn't release it until about two or three years after it was made.

What can I say it is probably one of the best films ever despite its age.
I just saw it for the first time two years ago, I didn't think it could live up to its legendary status but in my opinion it did.
And whats with people thinking I'm old?! I'm 28! Laughing out loud

It's cos you're Canadian. A 28 year old Canadian male is the equivalent of a 63 year old Englishman. :)
