I was wondering if you knew if there was any truth that there was a film in production of the Day Off abandoned film script, and who they are thinking of casting.

It's true that it has been discussed, but it's not got into the production stage. Might be best to start a new thread to discuss it.

Probably not worth doing if not in production. Having read the script that is a great shame.

...since no one has seen them since first transmission.

Maybe a stupid question: Did the BBC repeat their programmes in the old days at least once or twice before they wiped them for good?

They did. Programmes were contracted for one or two repeats; anything after that would have had to be negotiated again with each individual party. It's one major factor in the wiping occurring.

60 years old and better than anything else made today, do you need a louder statement about the present state of British sitcom?

Good sets if you get the reference, are people not getting the huge movie nod here in the excellent script? Not of their classic ep standard but still great, maybe wandered off with too many characters coming in in the second half, played much more like their radio sitcom than their more concise TV classics.

TH underplayed by the actor, sorry but he missed Hancock's really big delivery on many occasions. HJ was better as was KW although the ep could have done without him tbh.
Is this a one off or a trial pilot for a possible series? They have all the scripts I believe. How can they not make them all after that? Eh? But it's the Beeb innit:S:SIll:S:S
