Too many comps aimed at the 'amateur' are simply money making exercises or back-door script consultancies.
I don't normally bother with competitions - in the main they are pretty spurious.
This one was serious - they are genuinley after writers.
(Red Planet has a good record on this too - and I bet you'll get some 'insiders' entering that too).

Yup. And I doubt the 'insiders' and previously produced types get automatically favoured. They have more professional experience and may be more savvy in that respect, but it's all about wowing judges with talent and voice.
