Good observations, though it should be stated that today's audiences are pretty lame. Too many people are stuck in PC mode and/or seem to be obsessed with overrated no talents like Peter Kay or poor 'sitcoms' like My Family.

I guess the big thing is that Barrymore isn't a standup he presents TV shows
