Down The Line to BBC Two Page 2

This was really great on the radio, just hope it transfers well.

I loved "What is point?"

Could 'Help' really be classed as a sitcom ?

(Fred then runs away clutching a handful of League of Gentlemen DVDs)

:D :D

Interesting point. I've wondered about it before, but there is a narrative running through the show. One set, one 'grounding' constant character through the whole series, just the person he's interacting with changes - but even then they're always in the same role (a patient).

Down The Line is a bit hard work. Half an hour of it is too much.

I loved the radio version too. Really hope this is good.

I don't know if this new version of Down The Line will work, but the radio show was great.

Help was a comedic masterpiece, shame about Langham cos they would've got a second series I reckon.

There was definitely going to be a second series, I remember Langham saying he was doing some research for it....

Some short clips from Down The Line:

They seem quite funny. I shall have to search out more.

I've just realised that we've had details about this show published for more than six months: https://www.comedy.co.uk/tv/bellamys_people/

Excellent! The radio series is fab, especially the scary ending to series 2.

Calling it a spoof is about as misleading as calling On The Hour a spoof.

He was great! Especially the time he rang, said it, and you just heard Gary sigh...

Is this gonna work? Down The Line is a radio phone-in. Surely I'm not the only one to notice it may not quite work on TV..?

;)

Dan

Presumably it will be more based around the Gary Bellamy character than a direct copy of Down The Line? I like the character, he's never as 2 dimensional as you expect him to be.

Was brill on the radio. I hope the TV does it justice

I agree, so many sitcoms fall at the hurdle from radio to TV.

I'm thinking 'Fast Show' meets 'That's Life'. I've a funny feeling this could be good.

Has anyone noticed just how much stuff is transferring from radio to TV these days?

I don't think any more is doing so now than there has been in the past. Probably less, in fact.
