Primitive Productions Script Call

Primitive Productions is a newly formed production company specialising in short films.
Consisting of established theatre and film practitioners and an experienced professional crew, we produce short of the highest quality.
We are looking for screenplays between 5 and 10 minutes long. They should be plot-driven with strong characterisation.
We are looking to establish strong bonds with writers passionate about producing quality work and eventually work on longer and more involved projects.

Of course, it's harder than you think writing something so short.

Tonight, I adapted one of my old short stories and turned it into a 10 minute screenplay. Not sure if it's going to be the one I'll send though, as it's a very weird short story.

Anyone else going for this one????

Yeah, it's a mistaken identity romp, after comedy squirrels Chip'n'Dale witness a Disney mafia murder and hide in plain sight in London's West End as the tunesome twosome. The high point is undoubtedly the rendition of 'Run, Rabbit, Run' when the hitmen turn up to a gig.

I have something that has been gathering dust for a while not knowing what to do with so I'll tidy it up and send that. It fits in the time frame quite nicely.

I've sent something off. One of my more bizzare scripts. I just hope they've all been to the pub before they start reading.

I actually found it in the Robin Kelly Opps list (see other thread) ... hidden amongst all those screenplay contests that charge $50 entry.

I've sent something off. One of my more bizzare scripts. I just hope they've all been to the pub before they start reading.

My screenplay I wrote yesterday borders on bizzare. I just hope the reader of mine has a few smokes of the funny fags first.

Still not sure whether that's the one I'll send yet.

I'm amazed at how many people have already got 5 - 10 minute screenplays gathering dust, ready to send.
I'd have thought most people wouldn't write something so short.

The only "shorts" I'd ever done were three short stories (meant for women's mags) so, like I said, I adapted one of them.

The other two short stories are just thoughts of characters, so I can't really adapt them.

I may send them one that I've already had staged.

So if I go to see one of your plays, will it be over in ten minutes?
(Never even got to finish my popcorn!)
