Will you be buying Tony Blair's book? Page 2

Cynic is just another word for realist.

Or 'joyless, miserable bastard'?? ;)

Interestingly Mein Kampf is still on sale and has made profits in the 10s of millions.

But no charity or relative of Hitler will accept the funds.

I may see if I can claim them on behalf of world Jewry.

You went straight to Hitler; epic fail.

Will be reading it but not buying it.

Will make a donation to the charity I will bypass though.

Just my thing about not contributing to Blair's ego anymore by physically handing money over for it and increasing the sales figure.

Petty I know - but hey.

Anyway, the person who I'm going to steal it off will probably have to buy another copy.

No

But I'm pleased that he has decided to take credit for some of Gordon Brown's biggest decisions, which means he acknowledges that the Credit collapse was his fault. Good lad! Now piss off, and take your 150 staff with you...

Bought it yesterday !

So V

I will also be buying TB book. See how it compares to Mandleson's efforts.

If I do it will be off eBay for 50p (incl. P&P)

Or from't library as I am already paying for that through taxation.

Because he's using the publicity to make more money from his lecture tours?

Dude, he's the former prime minister. I doubt he needs any publicity.

Quote: Tony Cowards @ September 3 2010, 9:31 AM BST

He's not giving ALL the money from the book to charity at all, he's giving some to the British Legion to appease his guilty conscience and to give his book a bit more publicity/legitimacy.

Everything I've read said that he's giving all the money to charity, including the large advance he was paid.

I have the same editor/publisher - it's just the standard advance they pay everyone.

You received £4.6m, too? Will you adopt me?

He's only ripping off another former prime minister's book. That of course of the late great Eric Morecambe. Only he called his book 'My Ernie'.

Oh sorry, I didn't see the 'm'. :(

If it can be proved 100% that he's not making a single penny out of this book then I'll eat my words but this is a man who made a £20 million personal profit since the Iraq War, I think it's highly unlikely that he's written this book for charitable reasons alone.
