Ron Howard moves from narrating to directing duties as the popular comedy heads for the big screen...
Fans of the popular US sitcom, Arrested Development, have been watching and waiting for the last necessary block to fall into place that allows a film version worthy of the Golden Globe award-winning series. That piece has a name and it's Michael Cera.

A big screen recreation of the massively popular show, which ran for 53 episodes over three seasons, has been hinted at and rumoured, but final confirmation that all the 'family members' were onboard for a movie had remained afloat, just out of reach.

E Online has reported yesterday that Michael Cera (Superbad, Juno), has agreed to join the others, Jeffrey Tambor, Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Jessica Walter, Portia de Rossi, and Tony Hale, who make up the dysfunctional Bluth family.

Ron Howard, who narrated the series, is set to direct a script by series creator Mitchell Hurwitz for Fox Searchlight.

Returning brother Byron "Buster" Bluth (Tony Hale) can currently be seen on episodes of Chuck and Cera himself is scheduled to begin filming soon on an adaptation of the graphic novel, Scott Pilgrim, with Cera in the lead role as the 23-year-old anti-hero in an adventure romance.

There is always that risk of a movie not working, but you just look at that cast, the director and the writer and I can't see it failing.

Can't wait for this.

Clean up on isle 3.

Although sitcom spinoff films are always shit, I think the Arrested Development one might actually be one of the more palatable ones.
