Maybe - from the 1970s (June 6th 1972 to be precise), and could well apply today.

Presumably the husband has bought some naughty postcards. Beautifully drawn by Giles as you'd expect, but probably decades out of touch even then.

Yes. Mucky pictures or cards confiscated but the captain is going to go through them later.

It's clearly, as suggested in previous posts, something that was topical at the time - as was often the case with Giles (used to get his annuals for Christmas every year). However, I have looked through my various record books (eg Chronicle of the 20th Century) and had a good google(!) but can find nothing seemingly relevant.
