Two Doors Down Series 7 has started filming - and it will see Doon Mackichan return as Cathy.
The character was absent from Series 6, having apparently run off with another man whilst on holiday in Egypt, leaving husband Colin in despair, and eventually embarking upon a relationship with new girlfriend Anne Marie.
Airing later this year, the six-part series about a group of neighbours in a genteel Glasgow suburb will move to BBC One.
Having grouped together to support Colin through his sudden singledom, they now face the prospect of welcoming Cathy back into the community.
The rest of the sitcom's regular cast also return: Jonathan Watson as Colin, Arabella Weir as Beth, Alex Norton as Eric, Elaine C. Smith as Christine, Jamie Quinn as Ian, Kieran Hodgson as Gordon, Joy McAvoy as Michelle, and Graeme 'Grado' Stevely as Alan.
Doon Mackichan says: "I have missed the Two Doors Down family very much so it's a genuine delight to see Cathy bring her unique brand of community spirit back to Latimer Crescent. Beth - get a bottle open."
Co-creators Gregor Sharp and Simon Carlyle say: "Doon is one of the UK's very best comic actors, so we're thrilled to bits that she's returned to pick up Cathy's vape and rejoin the rest of our brilliant cast."
Steven Canny, executive producer for BBC Studios, adds: "It's a total pleasure to welcome Doon back to the family. We've been making Two Doors Down for a decade and couldn't be happier that Cathy has come home again."
All but the sitcom's original pilot episode are available to watch on iPlayer.
