Further details

Steven convinces Sally that complaint of sexual harassment against him is a misunderstanding, and she then persuades Janet that that's the case, until Janet, not knowing about their relationship, sees Steven and Alyson in a clinch, and assumes he's also harassing Alyson. Christine and Sally are then shocked to see some incriminating evidence against Steven on CCTV and Sally's friendship with Steven is severely tested. Eventually after a hearing which looks like going very much against Steven, Sally is able to clear his name and their friendship is restored. Max is becoming aware that the power now really lies with Alyson rather than Roger and after seeing Roger humiliated in various meetings, sets about trying to impress her, treading all over Vince to do so.
Christine, newly inspired by her AA attendance, is also desperate to impress Alyson and sets about implementing various morale boosting initiatives - none of which work until she goes for the simple old favourite of a karaoke night. She finds herself in a very tricky situation when Alyson insists that she makes the sexual harassment complaint 'go away' but is, as ever, saved by Sally.

Despite every fibre of its being screaming "I am but a competent ITV comedy-drama", Monday Monday is pretty likable. In this second episode Fay Ripley's Christine is in AA and trying to take back control of her working life. That's all well and good, except that she has to deal with a sexual harassment claim against resident office hunk Steven, who also happens to be sleeping with scary chief operating officer Alyson. Awkward. It's so light as to be weightless, but with a great cast (featuring Jenny Agutter, Holly Aird and the charming Morven Christie) it's definitely watchable.
