The party is a huge success and Miss Flood is delighted. There is a further surprise when Zoë turns up in front of everyone thanks Miss Flood for being one of the few who didn't laugh at her and Alec's relationship or declare it wouldn't last and had faith in them all along. Alec realises what a fool he's been. He and Zoë go outside and talk. They discuss their relationship and how far they've come.
