Indulgence, decadence and debauchery – the first series provided viewers with the first tantalising insight into the life and goings on in the ultimate hotel. The show starts with Charlie being interviewed by Rebecca for the job of Deputy Manager, but arch rival Anna emerges as a clever and formidable opponent. Guest stars in this first series included Joan Collins, Anthony Head and Steve Pemberton.
With the first series proving to be a ratings hit, in 2007 Tamzin Outhwaite and Max Beesley returned to star in a new eight-part series based around the hotel in which money not only talks but can buy just about anything you desire. Guest stars this season included Russ Abbot, Ronni Ancona, Chris Moyles, David Walliams, Alexander Armstrong, Mark Heap, Kelly Brooke, and Julian Clary.
Following the departure of Babylon's General Manager, Rebecca, Charlie steps up to the plate in Series 3. Just as driven and ambitious as his predecessor, Charlie is determined to make his mark and ensure the hotel's standards and profits are at an optimum. Guest stars this series included John Barrowman, Paula Abdul, Nicola Stephenson, Lesley Garrett, James Lance and Jon Culshaw.
Max Beesley left the show at the end of Series 3, so the producers hired Nigel Harman and Anna Wilson-Jones to join the cast and star in Series 4. Sam Franklin attempts to check into Hotel Babylon only to find his ex-wife, Juliet, has been appointed as a trouble-shooter to either shut down or save the hotel. Several phone calls later and Sam is the new owner, much to his ex-wife's annoyance.
