In an effort to bolster their pockets, Squire Haggard and his unscrupulous son, Roderick strut across the English countryside desperately searching for an heiress willing to part with her money, a man whose talent at the gambling table does not match his view of himself, or any manner of other scheme that may amuse and offer financial recompense for as little effort as is possible.
