Series 1, Episode 2 - A Stripe For Frazer
Told he can promote one of the men to Corporal, Mainwaring makes Frazer Lance-Corporal, and pits him against Jones in a contest to see who is worthy of the full rank - but the Scot quickly goes power mad, and has half the platoon up on a charge!

When he's told he can make a member of the platoon a Corporal, Captain Mainwaring instigates a competition between Frazer and Jones to see who deserves the promotion.
Both candidates do their best to impress him, particularly during a demonstration on how to face down a Nazi stormtrooper, but things go awry when a power-crazed Frazer charges the other men with court-martial offences.
