Key details
Speaking to The Telegraph in April 2013, Carla Lane (Bread, The Liver Birds, Butterflies) said she was working on a new sitcom idea about young mothers in Merseyside.
She said: "I've started writing again now. My mind is working on an idea. I've been seriously thinking of writing more about something here in Liverpool. It's where I was born and I understand it best of all. It will be about a street, that I can tell you, because everything that happens in life happens in a Liverpool street."
She added: "The other day I went to see a street on the cusp of Norris Green and West Derby where I used to live, so I've chosen the one I'll be using because of the people I've seen in it. I noticed there are quite a lot of prams outside, which appeals to me. Instead of it all being sweet and nice, I want to give the truth about what we feel about babies."
