Car Share: All the visual gags

Peter Kay's Car Share contains lots of visual jokes, to add an extra layer of humour. Did you spot them all?

This Is Not A Sign (Series 1, Episode 1)

This is not a sign.

It's certainly not. It just really, really looks like one.

Brazilian While You Wait (Series 1, Episode 1)

Brazillian while you wait.

Everything is so convenient these days.

Mark Radcliffe on Manchester (Series 1, Episode 1)

"A city that thinks a table is for dancing on" - Mark Radcliffe.

Radio presenter Mark Radcliffe has a wise quote about the northern city.

Buy One Meal... (Series 1, Episode 4)

Buy one meal for the price of two... get the second meal absolutely free.

Here's hoping that their food is better than their maths skills.

Missing Husband (Series 1, Episode 4)

Missing husband... last seen entering a whore.

Missing... or is he just hiding?

Shop signs (Series 1, Episode 6)

The Good Barber, Big Bobs Munch Box, B&S Carolgee's.

There's plenty going on in this shot! A Godfather joke, a call back to 'Big Bob's Beans' from Max And Paddy's Road To Nowhere, and most importantly there's Carolgees! In everything Peter Kay has done, there's always been some form of reference to Bob Carolgees (and Spit the Dog). This is a very subtle one!

Phoenix Bites (Comedy Shuffle special)

Phoenix Bites.

Another shop sign based reference, this time to Peter's classic sitcom Phoenix Nights. Clearly Brian Potter is still quite the entrepreneur!

Everything Must Go (Comedy Shuffle special)

Everything must go.

For this poor man, pretty much everything already has gone.

Blow Job? (Comedy Shuffle special)

Blow job sign. Copyright: Goodnight Vienna Productions.

Hairdryers. They're talking about hairdryers, right?

Mr Softee Top (Series 2, Episode 1)

Mr Softee Top.

Remember Mr Softee Top from That Peter Kay Thing? It's nice to see that he's still out and about after all that business with Signór Whippee.

Miner Celebrities (Series 2, Episode 1)

Miner Celebrities - They've finally hit rock bottom.

You may laugh, but this is exactly the sort of show that could get commissioned in 2018. Bonus points if you spotted Bob Carolgees's involvement!

Shaun Ryder Rehab Centre (Series 2, Episode 1)

Shaun Ryder Rehab Centre.

Is your melon twisted? Perhaps this is the place to go.

The Dog With Two Cocks (Series 2, Episode 2)

The Dog With Two Cocks.

Well, it certainly makes a change from seeing a Red Lion.

Tecco Express (Series 2, Episode 2)

Tecco Express.

Next door to the Polski Pound Shop is... Tecco Express?

Hand Job sign (Series 2, Episode 2)

Hand Job sign.

Spinning in the background is a sign with 'Hand' on one side, and 'Job' on the other.

Samuel L Jackson driving school (Series 2, Episode 3)

Samuel L Jackson - driving school.

Even the most successful of actors have to have a backup career.

Newwoman advert (Series 2, Episode 3)

Newwoman capsules - I feel like shit.

Well, you have to admire her honesty.

Wigan Pies (Series 2, Episode 3)

Pies R Us in Wigan.

Not only is Wigan "the home of premiership football and pies" but there's also a 24 hour 'Pies R Us' for all your pie shaped needs!

Cash4Pies.

Pies can also be exchanged for money in Wigan, it seems.

No pies are left in this vehicle overnight.

But there's no pies in this van.

Pies of Wigan.

This lorry is probably full of pies though.

Life of Pi - always showing.

Of course the film Life Of Pi is always showing, the good people of Wigan can't get enough of it!

Pies sale now on.

Just in case you hadn't worked it out yet, pies can be purchased in Wigan.

Holly Bush Lane (Series 2, Episode 3)

Holly's Bush.

It seems that having a road named after you isn't always a compliment.

Lollipop Lady (Series 2, Episode 4)

Lollypop lady wearing a florescent Burqa.

Now that's a pretty impressive lollipop lady.

HeBrew (Series 2, Episode 4)

HeBrew.

Nothing to see here, just a Hebrew having a brew at HeBrew.

Dented car (Series 2, Episode 4)

Never lend your car to a woman... with an arrow pointing to a dent.

Surely that'll buff out?

Frying Nemo (Series 2, Episode 4)

Frying Nemo.

We'll never watch that Pixar film in the same way again.

Vengabus (Unscripted special)

Vengabus.

The Vengabus. We've got a strong feeling that it's going to Ibiza.

Hot Dog (Unscripted special)

'50p Beef Hot Dog (* not actual size)' poster.

Regardless of the size, 50p is still quite the bargain.

Car Wash sign (Unscripted special)

Car Wash - Best Hand Job In Town.

That's quite a bold claim.

Pies Of Wigan (Unscripted special)

Pies of Wigan.

Another successful delivery from the people of Wigan!

Halaldi (Unscripted special)

Halaldi.

As supermarket puns go, this is most impressive.

Can't Grow A Mustache? (Unscripted special)

Can't grow a mustache? Please take a complimentary one.

Finally, the solution we've all been searching for.

Mega Cuts (Unscripted special)

Mega Cuts shop.

An unfortunate placement of the scissors in that sign perhaps.

Dog (Unscripted special)

Dog going to the loo by a postbox.

We think we'll just leave this one here.

My Big Fat Undateable Bake Off (Finale)

My Big Fat Undateable Bake Off.

It looks like Channel 4 are combining all their hit formats.

The Knocking Shop (Finale)

The Knocking Shop and Stop Hammertime sign.

Is that a massage place? Plus, an MC Hammer reference on the Stop sign, as a bonus.

Advert on the Magic Bus (Finale)

Magic bus with Beaver Liqueur advert.

Is a Magic Bus better than the Megabus? Believe it or not, Magic Bus a real bus company in Manchester, but the alcohol advert on the side of it is fake: Beaver Liquors. Oh, and in the background, there's that Miner Celebrities advert again!

Beaver Liquors.

Lost Boys (Finale)

Lost Boys - Have U Seen Them Reward.

Have you seen this film?

Jean-Claude Van Man (Finale)

Jean-Claude Van Man.

Another Hollywood star now working in Manchester?

No Dogging Zone (Finale)

No dogging zone.

There are double-yellow no parking lines, to be fair.

Buy 3 For The Price Of 3! (Finale)

Buy 3 for the price of 3!.

Another great deal!

Louder Than Your Bird Last Night (Finale)

Car with Louder Than Your Bird Last Night sticker.

What a big exhaust!

Manchester City (Finale)

Old Trafford with Manchester City written on it.

A subtle one this... that's Old Trafford, Manchester United's ground.

Don't Drive Like A Cockerel (Finale)

Don't drive like a... picture of a cockerel.

A public service announcement.

Ken Bamber's meat (Finale)

Ken Bamber - High class butcher. Give your mouth a treat, try some of Ken's meat.

"Give your mouth a treat, try some of Ken's meat".

Secret Nuclear Bunker (Finale)

Secret Nuclear Bunker sign.

Not so secret any more!

NOW CD (Finale)

Car crash scene - with NOW CD. Copyright: Goodnight Vienna Productions.

Not so much a joke, but a lovely subtle callback. The NOW 48 music CD can be seen in the wreckage of John's door.
