All hell is breaking loose in Nouvion: the captured Generals are free, Von Klinkerhoffen is sending Gruber and Colonel Von Strohm to the Russian front, and René is sent to collect the paintings before helping them escape to South America!

Fearing being blamed for the ten Generals who were sent to the coast, René sets out to brick himself into his cellar. Michelle arrives with a medal for his bravery but also with a suicide pill since he knows too much.
