It's 18 months since Sheila Haddon's husband died and because he had no life insurance she is left with a hefty mortgage on No. 20, and the company of her daughter, Monica. With the prospect of having to sell her home on the horizon, Sheila looks at her options. She is too independent to call upon the help of old family friend, Richard, but thinks she may have found the solution by renting out rooms in the house.
