Sitcom Mission 2025 longlist

Thursday 29th May 2025

We don't know what's in the water but we had an even stronger selection of scripts to choose from this year, with even more going in the yes pile than previous years.

As discussed in our recent webinar on ways to get to the yes pile, there were a lot of clear characters with a unique view of the world. Many of the scripts had a clear structure and plot line and the best ones always kept their characters active in pursuit of their episode goal.

If you'd like to learn more about how those things work and get a step-by-step checklist of what to do now you've finished your script send an email to sitcommission@gmail.com and ask for a link to our recent FREE webinar.

There's also a special offer on our course - the best one for over a year! 🤫

Finally, after much deliberation between our six readers, our longlist of scripts for Sitcom Mission 2025 are (in alphabetical order)...

Baeliffs: Craig Hazell & Tom Holmes

False Start: Jasmine Ballard

Homewrecker: Emily Farrell

Kings of Convenience: Nick Younger

Peeb: William Johnston

Therapists: Sal Fulcher

We'll also release a list of honourable mentions in due course.

We're still working through bronze feedback. We hope to have them back to everyone by the end of July.

Thank you so much to everyone who entered. We read every single script and each one had great moments. They're all at different points within their development, so if you'd didn't make the longlist, hopefully this is a time to look into how to keep improving your script.

If so, as above, do check out our free webinar which has loads of tips you can put into action right now.

Or if you'd like something tailored to your specific script, we have our online course, Sitcom Writers' Academy starting on 10th June every Tuesday (6.30pm - 9pm) for 6 weeks.

Or we offer year-round feedback.

If you'd like to see those 6 scripts performed live come to our public showcase on Weds 4th June, 7.30pm at Canal Cafe Theatre (London).

As always, get in touch if you have any questions and... keep writing!
