Growing up, Lemn Sissay was the only black child in an all-white town. In Manchester, he was the only Ethiopian man on the cabaret circuit. And he is the only person called Lemn in the entire world.

As with his previous series for Radio 4 - Social Enterprise, Origin Stories and the Rose d'Or-nominated Homecoming - Lemn Sissay Is The One And Only will be a mix of stand-up, poetry, conversation, and serious and entertaining interviews. Each week he'll start with something that makes or made him unique, and sees how unique that really makes him. Is thinking you're unique an act of arrogance (get over yourself, you're not special) or paranoia (get over yourself, no-one cares)?
