Ross Noble interview

Most of us have experienced a nightmare where we're on stage, in front of a huge audience, with no script, no cues, and absolutely no clue what we're going to say next. What is an unwelcome nocturnal stress for most people is a daily fact of life for Ross Noble. When Noble takes to the stage, he has no more of an idea what he's going to say than the bloke in row Q. As he tells us, he just wings it.

Review: Ross Noble at The Music Hall

Was the culmination of the show a fiendishly clever binding together of all the random topics covered over the course of the night? Or was it simply a man on a stage making grunting noises and gesturing for an extended period of time occasionally interspersed with words mentioned earlier in the show?

It's easy being an agent? You're having a laugh

Funny guys: Dealing with comedians like Ross Noble, Mark Thomas and Dylan Moran is all in a day's work for Shaun Almey, a Lincoln-based independent booking agent for comedy shows.

Review: Ross Noble

He builds this world for you and he laughs along with you - he is no more familiar with it than the audience, and his is the most ingenious kind of nonsense.

Nick Charity, Nottingham Post, 9th October 2014

We've reached "L". Lordy. That's some longevity, right there. However, to make things a little less lumbering, question maestro Stephen Fry is concentrating only on the animal kingdom tonight: from lonely whales to larval locomotives. And possibly lolloping lorikeets, lecherous lions and lesser mouse lemurs. Guests Sarah Millican, Ross Noble and Colin Lane join resident fixture Alan Davies.

Radio Times review

It's certainly a big night for comedy panel shows with Have I Got News for You joining Would I Lie to You? on BBC1 and, testing our knowledge of the baffling and the obscure, the wonderful QI on BBC Two.

We're on to the letter L - although that hardly matters - and it takes less than five minutes for it to get lewd despite the headmasterly efforts of Stephen Fry. He asks an innocent question about the sound a lonely whale makes and the ensuing banter suddenly spirals off into filth. Hilarious filth, mind you. Fry, whose obsession with gadgetry matches his love of language, also gets to demonstrate how a fish can drive a tank.

Joining QI regulars Ross Noble and Sarah Millican is the quick-witted Australian comic Colin Lane, but even he is no match for Alan Davies who, for once, isn't there simply to play the fool. "What has 32 brains and sucks," the panel is asked. "The front row" is his speedy response.

Comedy review: Ross Noble - Tangentleman, Edinburgh

For such a seasoned comic, so comfortable riffing off the top of his head, the suggestion that Ross Noble needed a few shows under his belt before allowing reviewers in for press night this evening boggles the mind.
