Channel 4's Big Fat Quiz Of The Year. It wasn't just the controversial jokes about the Queen and the boozy antics of those contestants who appeared to be taking part in a Big Fat Ego Of The Year side contest.

No, the biggest shock was that in a line-up that contained Gabby Logan and six men who are (over)paid to be amusing for a living, Logan ended up being the third funniest.

As for Jimmy Carr's question, 'What does YOLO stand for?' Dunno, Jim. But in your case I'm guessing it's You Owe Lots Of...

David Walliams quits new BBC show I Love My Country

David Walliams has pulled out of new BBC show I Love My Country. He will be replaced by sports pundit Gabby Logan when series airs next year.

The Mirror, 9th December 2012

This week's guest on Angelos Epithemiou's entertainment extravaganza is former footballer Paul Gascoigne. Angelos, played by comic actor Dan Renton Skinner, plies Gazza for his views on the current England football team, and the veteran player happily divulges. Angelos's sidekick Gupta (played by Adeel Akhtar) receives a very special present and also pays another swift visit to Gabby Logan, the girl of his dreams.

The Telegraph, 26th July 2012

Renton Skinner's grubby-looking alter ego is unlikely to trouble Partridge or Norton for the comedy talk-show crown, but his strange on-stage universe is convincingly complete: everywhere you look there's faded glory and drooping props. The guests who run the gauntlet of animal-lifting and quick-fire questions tonight are TOWIE's Amy Childs and tattooed rapper Professor Green, with Gabby Logan and Ulrika Jonsson for brief moments of glamour.

Emma Sturgess, Radio Times, 20th July 2012

You'd expect this show to be shambolic - that's partly the point. But this is a real dog's breakfast. The skits are too many and the laughs too few, while Angelos lacks either the venom to demolish a guest or the variety of approach to deconstruct one. Tonight's star, Amy Childs, makes for a self-evidently soft target and she's a good sport, but the 'vajazzle' phenomenon is venerable enough to be beyond satire. Best mate Gupta outstays his welcome and the Gabby Logan skits are already looking tired (although a cameo from old flame Ulrika is a nice touch), while Professor Green's contribution is minimal. Dan Skinner is a great comic performer, but this doesn't feel like the best vehicle for his talents: more than ever, Angelos seems more like a brilliant comic foil than convincing leading man.

Gabriel Tate, Time Out, 20th July 2012

This week's guests on Angelos's demented chat show are ex-Towie vajazzler Amy Childs and rapper Professor Green, while Gabby Logan and Ulrika Jonsson are also permitted to bask in his reflected glory. Logan, appearing throughout the series as Angelos's love interest, even gets the offer of having "a little fiddle about". Try as you might, it's impossible not to crack under his persistence, and though the overly sincere music number is a thumping mismatch, it doesn't detract from what is in places a very fine show.

Ben Arnold, The Guardian, 19th July 2012

A stuffed dog launches the show by barking the Match of the Day theme tune. So it's probably fair to deduce that Angelos Epithemiou, aka Dan Renton Skinner, has picked up a few presentational hints from his time as Vic & Bob's comedy scorekeeper. But can he make it on his own? Inevitably, the first episode of this new series is something of a mixed bag. There's an amusing encounter with Dr Christian Jessen which suggests Angelos has potential as a socially inept Mrs Merton-style celebrity-botherer. A few sketches with his best mate Gupta which, in all honesty, don't amount to much. A new, reluctant love interest in the shape of Gabby Logan (Ulrika presumably cries herself to sleep, pining for the days when Angelos lurked in the bushes outside her home). And some encounters with the studio audience which suggest that Angelos's greatest strength remains his gift for off-the-cuff, unscripted mischief. This probably isn't particularly good news in terms of sustaining a long, fruitful career. But for the time being, this is good, unpredictable fun.

Phil Harrison, Time Out, 13th July 2012

Comedy prankster Angelos Epithemiou, real name Daniel Renton Skinner, who first found fame on Shooting Stars, returns with a new series of his dubious "entertainment" show. Tonight's guests include the host of fellow Channel 4 programme Embarrassing Bodies, Dr Christian Jessen, and teenage pop star Conor Maynard. Gabby Logan will be appearing throughout the series as Epithemiou's love interest.

Simon Horsford, The Telegraph, 12th July 2012

Dan Renton Skinner's carrier-bag-toting alter ego stars in this new variety show. Epithemiou's trademark social awkwardness and tendency to lose interest in what his guests are talking about make him the perfect host, while sidekick Gupta adds to the chaos. This week, Embarrassing Bodies presenter Dr Christian Jessen joins him for a chat, and baby-faced pop star Conor Maynard competes for the chance to perform his single Vegas Girl. Love is in the air, too, as Gabby Logan pops up as the object of Epithemiou's desires.

Hannah Verdier, The Guardian, 12th July 2012

The joy of this series is the way it veers into comic byways. For instance, when Gabby Logan claims she throws things across the room at night to remind her of things to do in the morning, the discussion spins off into the question of whether or not she has slept with her team captain, David Mitchell. (He's on masterful comic form, but then, when isn't he?)

The "This is my..." round is genuinely harder to guess than usual: is mystery-man Kevin an EastEnders superfan who changed his name to Albert Square, Christian Jessen's surgeon or Lee's bum double from Not Going Out? Other tangents include an impression of the Alien stomach-burst scene from Rob Brydon.
