Chortle Awards 2022 shortlist revealed

The nominees have been announced for the Chortle Awards 2022, with Bob Mortimer, Liz Kingsman and Adam Rowe leading the shortlists, with two nominations apiece.

Kunt's Boris Johnson Is A F***ing C*** No. 5 in first chart update

While LadBaby is still No. 1, at Number 5 midweek, the second-most downloaded track of the week so far is punk band The Kunts with the controversial "Boris Johnson Is Still A F**king C**t" - a follow on from their 2020 campaign which finished in the Top 5 last year. It's a strong start, but the band will need to keep up the momentum to hold on to their current placing against the streaming might of other tracks. Comedians Adam Rowe and Dan Nightingale from the Have A Word podcast are in No. 39 with their charity single Laura's Gone, featuring Finlay K.

We have now handed out the last of our Chortle Awards for 2021 for the Legends Of Lockdown. But what was clear from the almost 8,000 suggestions we received was the vast range of comedians and producers working to create comedy during the pandemic.
