Another tour update from sketch group Gein's Family Giftshop...

Cardiff & Coventry

So, we've been on tour forever. We've been talking about our tour for even longer. But we finally got to play two home town gigs (different homes)!

Home coming, celebration, hats off well done great gig 1: Salford's "The Lowry Outlet Theatre"

Boy oh boy, what a generous gang we had watching us tit around. True to our words, Ed's father looked right at his penis. He loved the show so much Ed even got an invitation to his wedding! The best thing about being at the Lowry Outlet Theatre was, hands down, the reduced parking, what a delight! We also slept in our own beds rather than the hard shoulder of the M1, so swings and roundabouts. We would rate this gig: "victorious, thanks for coming friends".

Gein's Family Giftshop - The boys in just their pants!

Here is a picture of Jim and Ed getting in the zone backstage. This picture has inspired Ed to audition for Bambi on Ice and inspired Jim to start shaving his back again.

Home coming, celebration, hats off well done great gig 2: Chorley's "Chorley's Little Theatre"

This time Jim's family came and his father was SO impressed he said, mouth agape; "If you need anything let us know. We've put a futon and a tele in the box room so don't be too proud to come back. I love you son"! I don't think we need to rate this gig after such a glorious review.

Chorley's Little Theatre is genuinely brilliant and fattened us up like geese with a whole tub of Uncle Joe's Mint Balls and a Chorley Cake each. Pete Otway (proper comedian) helped us out by filling in the empty 20 minutes of the show we haven't written, and it was so great/loud. Thanks Pete.

Now we've refreshed ourselves with the love and adoration of half our surviving parentage, it's back out into the wilderness for more tour shenanigans (aka hallucinating from tiredness on an A road).

The next place we'll be dropping props is Clwb Ifor Bach in Cardiff. This is very much Kath and Kiri's land, so Ed and Jim will have to sit in the back of the car on their hands, like in a strip club. Hopefully they'll be allowed in, but during our last Welsh 'kicking out' someone definitely shouted "and never come back" but we don't know if they were from the government or not, so keep your fingers crossed for us.

Immediately after that, we're zooming to Warwick Arts Centre in Coventry, the geographical centre of our hearts. Legend has it that this stop on the tour will be a lovely time and a smashing gig for everyone. 'Legend' is what Ed's flatmate calls himself, we just call him 'Will', but he's stopped answering to that so if we want him to unblock the toilet after he's used it or stop clipping his nails into the kitchen bin we have to buy into the 'Legend' facade.

These next two might be our favourite venues and locations on the tour, depending on whether or not we die on our muscular holes or not. Wish us good sketch,

GFG.

We'll have another update from the group soon. In the meantime, to find out more about them and where they'll be performing next, visit www.geinsfamilygiftshop.co.uk
