Promotional poster artwork for the 2023 Edinburgh Fringe shows starring comedians Daniel Foxx and Bennett Arron have picked up this year's Comedy Poster Awards prizes.

The results were announced at a ceremony tonight in the city, hosted by Tom Houghton.

Panel Award

From the previously announced shortlist, Bennett Arron's self-designed and photographed poster for Loser picked up the judges' prize, voted for by Pete Collins, art director at Tommy; Katy Cowan, founding editor of Creative Boom; and Jules McGill, graphic designer and Head of Social & Production at Accelerated Intelligence.

Audience Award

The Audience Award - based entirely on a public vote of all entries - was won by Daniel Foxx's poster for Villain. It was both designed and photographed by Jiksaw.

The results were announced at a ceremony in Edinburgh tonight at the Gilded Balloon Patter Hoose, organised by British Comedy Guide.

Awards founder, comedy producer Gina Lyons, comments: "I love posters. I love comedy. And once again I'm proud of the Comedy Poster Awards for celebrating the eye porn that promotes art each Fringe!"

Each winner will get a pack of free street poster placements for their shows at the 2024 Fringe, courtesy of the city council's authorised advertising partner, Out of Hand.

They say: "Out of Hand are proud to support these awards. Having witnessed so many different posters across the city, this is a great opportunity to see which ones have really made an impact with the public and stand out with great creative design."

This was the seventh annual Comedy Poster Awards. In total, more than 200 posters were entered into the 2023 contest. They can all be viewed via the Comedy Poster Awards website
