Peter White answers 10 questions about his 2016 Edinburgh Fringe show...

Give us a quick overview of your comedy career so far. Are you happy with where you're at?

I started in a far more innocent time and place. The year was 2006 and Donald Trump was just a reality show host and not the antichrist, and the place was Canada where the weather is cold but hearts are warm.

I had a lot of luck early on, I did my first TV recording in my second year, and was lucky enough to get invited to Just For Laugh's the same year. By my third year I was touring the country, and in my fourth year I taped an hour long TV special. In 2012 I moved over the to the UK and after a couple of years I was lucky enough to be featured on Live at the Comedy Store on Comedy Central. However, I've still got a long way to go. I'm happy with what I'm doing, but I wouldn't mind finding some more financial security. And maybe a puppy.

Tell us two truths and one lie about yourself (but mix them up, keep us guessing!).

1. I was featured in a movie starring Pierce Brosnan.

2. I once ate 60 apples in a single sitting without realising that they are a natural laxative.

3. I can take off my underwear without taking off my trousers.

Describe your new show in exactly 23 words.

It's a look at race, gender, and sexuality as it relates to being a white male. It's both very funny and deeply personal

Any cunning plans to get more punters in?

I don't know if I'd call praying in the foetal position especially cunning, but it's currently my best plan. Beyond that it's just put on a solid show every day and hope for the best.

What's your plan for trying to eat - and drink - healthily during the Fringe?

Well considering I don't eat and drink healthily during the rest of the year I think it would be highly irresponsibly for me to do it during the Fringe. My body might shut down and I'd be unable to perform.

What will you miss most while you're away from home?

Interacting with non-comedians. The fringe is so comedy heavy that I'm worried I'll forget how to talk to people with an appropriate moral compass. Also I'll miss waking up not hungover.

Aside from performing, what else are you looking forward to doing in Scotland's fine capital?

I'm excited to try to fit in to the Scottish culture. It's the only place in the world where my diet is considered normal and not disgustingly unhealthy. DEEP FRY EVERYTHING PLEASE.

If you took over programming a Fringe venue, what would your perfect line-up of comedians be?

Oh that's such a mean question, because if I list my friends I look like a loser, and if I don't name my friends then they'll hate me. I'd have Dylan Gott, John Hastings, Evelyn Mok, Ryan Cull, and Andrea Hubert for sure. I'd probably also roll the dice on Bill Burr, since he really needs to catch a break...

Name the one person you'd rather not bump into during the festival.

I'd rather not bump into the drunken, broken, bloated, gassy, mess of a human being that will be me by the end of this festival.

Why should audiences pick your show over the 1,800+ other Fringe offerings listed on BCG this year?

Therefore science dictates that my show will be 10 TIMES BETTER THAN EVERY OTHER SHOW HERE. GUARANTEED*
