Britain's worst ever sitcom Page 7

DEREK GRIM OF GASFORTH CID COME ON DOWN!!! HAVE YOU HEARD FOWLER WE'RE GOING TO BE STARS, LIMMO'S, POSH BIRDS, NO MORE QUEING AT SAINSBURYS.

What was that god-awful ITV one that starred (the late) Anne Bancroft and (the late) Charlotte Coleman? Bancroft played a faded movie star living in London.

Freddie and Max it was called. Never seen it. It was written by the classic writing duo of Dick Clement and Iain La Frenais (Porridge, Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads). It was seen as a big dissapointment though.

Thanks for that.

Don't mention it Tim.

Interestingly, one of the few (only?) British sitcoms to not only be an American show, but to use the original's (Who's The Boss?, starring Tony Danza) scripts word-for-word, only changing the odd cultural reference. If I remember rightly, there was one single episode (out of 95) which was new for the UK.

Geek.

Guilty and proud. :D
