British Comedy Quiz Page 9

Just sent Mark my 15th quiz and one more special (now 9) yesterday on the Fast Show, so that's 24 in total for him (and you in quiz land) to get his teeth into.

I'm now retiring....................or maybe not

All guesses and all wrong except the Alexei Sayle one. I knew cos I saw it being recorded, after which he signed my Cak and Fish People albums. Check out the Easter egg at the start of https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vPUeB2ZqQU .

Thank you for your feedback! The Alexei Sayle radio comedy stuck in my mind as a teenager as something I found clever and funny in equal measures. I had one episode on audiotape for a few years and I can still recall quotes from it 30+ years later.

And I will be compiling more quizzes - it occurred to me yesterday that so far I've not included a question on my all-time favourite, Blackadder. So that might be a subtle hint if I can come up with a good enough question.

6/10
1, 7, 8 & 10 I knew; 2 & 3 correct lucky guesses.
6 I probably should have known but didn't bring it to mind; 4, 5 & 9 no idea.

6/10 (&2/5)
Though I would question the colour of head-ware in question.
So, in my head at least, I'm claiming a 7! ?

EDIT: Actually I've taken a look now - and in certain lights....

Well it's not the first shade of that particular colour that may come to mind, but I didn't want to get all over-poetic about the colour name, saving that for when I'm asked to name colours in a range of emulsion paints :D

Lots of excitement on the Dad's Army Facebook Appreciation Page re this week's quiz.

9/10 for me. Embarrassed to admit that I did not know the answer to question # 5.

Really enjoyed this week's themed quiz HGT, 14/15 for me which was more than I'd expected - Q2 was the only one I got wrong.

I got a mere 7 out of 15! Clearly a thorough rewatch is in order.

Not a big Dad's Army fan but gave it a go - just 4 of them correct (aka "my usual"!). Question 4 was a process of elimination as I knew it wasn't any of the wrong ones.

Well done, as some of them were hard I thought, and LOL I had to amend the photo on Q2 that Mark had used as you could see half of the answer to 5, which was a pure observation, and so glad it went down well with the FB fans

Thank you! And excellent! And again pure observation for 2, which I thought was hard.

Absolutely, and never mind - there's another one at the end of November to mark the end of the series, so you have plenty of time to brush up!

Oh.........................never mind ?

Today BCG, tomorrow the world! ?

Part of email from Mark..................

"It got featured on Google Discover (the thing where it suggests things to look at, on mobile phones) for a period of time on Wednesday so I imagine it's had a lot of participants too."

11/15. Thankfully no Qs on Cheeseman ? (rarely has a character been so aptly named). A couple of testing Qs that only very dedicated fans with perhaps their books as well would know, but generally quite accessible to the core of Dad's Army watchers.

If someone's compiling a lot of single subject specials can I ask we have an agreement of sorts as to who works on which subjects, to avoid the prospect of duplications? I also like a good specialist quiz and I can declare I've already submitted...

Discussions with anyone also contemplating specials on these subjects, negotiations on possible joint enterprises on said subjects or objections to any of said subjects welcome. (Agreements with Mark may also be needed to avoid an imbalance of Quiz subjects published).

I have another 2 x Dad's Army, Hancock (2nd), Monty Python and Steptoe in with Mark, and dates set for publication, and am now working on my 17th regular quiz.
There's bound to be some duplication, but I don't think Mark is that bothered, as the gap between quizzes will probably be too great to notice.

); Rising Damp; Fawlty Towers. And would like, if time ever allows to attempt 15s on Ealing & Boulting Bros films; Musical Comedy; Porridge; SMDAE (but none of these are in the pipeline yet).

And, I have a number of questions on Porridge, SMDAE and Fawlty Towers, for example in my regular quizzes all ready in with Mark - 17th now in and working on my 18th since this morning!! ?
