Visage-Fade to grey- RIP Steve Strange. Ahhh the New Romantics. Pretentious moi?

Steve Strange, you was a punk in '77
And you was a skinhead in '78
You tried mod but you were too late
Changing, changing all the time

And you was a punk, too late
And you was a skinhead, too late
And you was a mod, too late
And you was a Ted, too late

Poseur, poseur standing there
You change your style every year
Once straight but now a queer
You change your style every year

And you was a punk, too late
And you was a skinhead, too late
And you was a mod, too late
And you was a Ted, too late

New romantics, you're too elite
You ain't worthy to kiss me feet
You're looking down on all you meet
New romantics, you're too elite

And you was a punk, too late
And you was a skinhead, too late
And you was a mod, too late
And you was a Ted, too late

Awesome

Yes. That's good. It starts off with a Dylanesque vocal and then brings in something like Dan Melchior or John Otway. The tuniest bit is a deliberate classic style 60s rip-off - unequivocally pop if not quite the Ramones' way with bubblegum - and, brilliantly, while it is famous I can't for the life of me recall what it is.

Sounds a bit like "Rocks" or a combination of other stuff.

Spanish classical radio channel, 24 hours a day, brilliant. Miguel Fleta, the great Spanish tenor, singing arias from Aida.

I'm afraid I wouldn't know my arias from my Elba.

Haha!

Reading about Louis Jourdan reminded me of this.I thought it was him but I'm wrong. May be Cal Calloway.
