Twenty Twelve - Series 1

Hugh Bonneville, Jessica Hynes and Olivia Coleman have recently finished filming a documentary style comedy based on the Olympics Committee. Written by those behind People Like Us and Broken News. Due for transmission in the New Year - should be a brilliant new comedy, can't wait!

Is it really due to broadcast that late? I could have sworn I'd seen a trailer for it already.

And welcome to the site. :)

The concept certainly works; Aussie sitcom The Games is basically the same deal from the Sydney 2000 Olympics and is fairly funny.

The key word in all of this is "should".

Unlikely, as they've only just finished editing it. And thank you! Wave

Is it just me or does this show has a striking resemblance to an Australian show made a few years back by John Clarke?

I thought that Tim McInnerny was in this, but his name doesn't appear on the line up. Does anyone know?

You may have got up too early.

And, welcome Jaki.

One of the best Australian comedy shows I've ever seen.

Unimpressed

A trailer for Twenty Twelve has just been released.

I was thinking of writing something along the same lines, but from the Paris point of view, where after discovering how much it would cost, they attempted to sabotage their own bid. The tears at the bid, where tears of joy at saving so much money.

Sounds good - albeit perhaps a little out of date now.

Radio 4 did a similar series What Went Wrong with the Olympics? written by Ian Hislop and Nick Newman.

This is my girlfriend's world (she's chief public arts advisor for the olympics) so we're both looking forward to this. The trailer was a pretty authentic representation of what's going on there by her account.
