Where was it you got Armstrong and Miller for a quid, chip? The Works?

Well remembered! I keep popping in hoping to see either series 2 or a Mark Pearson book, but so far no luck. :(

That's good luck - imagine if you had to actually have to read one!

There's a shop down the lanes in Brighton, it's like a huge flea market.
It's got loads of retro stuff, toys, books, clothes, objectd'art & such like.
Last time I was there I bought a Captain Scarlett doll & a plastic Dalek model & a Risk Board game.

The Sweet shop round the corner with all the old sweets isn't too bad either.

:P

Can't believe I haven't mentioned Argos yet. Great place. Like a shop in book form. Plus they give away free biros.

I want to read one and swim in the Mind of P. I just don't want to pay full price. :)

Wow, that's given me planty to think about. >_<

I can almost hear the clock slowly ticking in the background. Ahhhh.... :)

I'd forgotten this thread. Below is a poem I wrote for Aaron after disclosing that I liked bookshops and liked smelling books. Zooo and Scatterbrained Floozy also disclosed their liking of book sniffing and Aaron called us all weirdos or something similar.

Aaron - I think thou dost protest too much.....

With Zooo asleep he takes his chance
The yearnings are too strong
Perversion is subjective
Who decides what's right or wrong

He knows that he denies himself
A pleasure that she shares
With other odd contributors
Whose actions lead to stares

Tonight's the night he finally
Decides he'll have a go
With heart a beating noisily
And breathing very low

Picks up his favourite novel
With it's cover old and stiff
And opens very slowly
And then takes a virgin sniff

Then getting back into their bed
He sees her lying there
And thinks that she must never know
The secret they now share

I saw this and thought of Zooo

My favourite is probably Powell's City of Books in Portland, OR, which is the world's largest independent book store. Very easy to get lost in there. I certainly have. And the rare book room is insane. The main location is about 4-5 stories tall taking up an entire rather large city block, and then there are 5 or so other slightly smaller branches throughout Portland and a smattering of warehouses full of extra books throughout the city.
