Things that piss you off Page 1,610

I must be unique Angelic I never have trouble with flat pack assembly:-

Make sure you have all the bits listed and then RTFM!!!

I program machines that make the flat pack furniture.
They work to minute tolerances and everything is exhaustively strength tested.
They make the flat packs up into whatever they are and really hammer them.

But, if they are not put together correctly............

Oh, and incidentally, I also work with the machines that make flat pack coffins........ yep most coffins start as flat packs.

That is a creepy place to work as when they are made (all made to order)
they have to settle for a day or two and they (creek) EDIT oops I meant creak and groan as they expand or shrink.

Sometimes the pre drilled holes are incomplete, misaligned or just not there!

Now I know who to blame :)

I've still got quite a few items of flat pack that I made that are still solidly in one piece and still look good.

I guess you lot are just shit at putting it together. ;)

I fully admit that I do not have the skill nor patience for such tasks! But after closely following the hieroglyphic style instructions, there's no reason the screws should start falling out.

Maybe you need one of those electric screwdrivers to get them riiiiiight in there.

Oh god, I'd never put up a whole wardrobe without one! My wrists may have plenty of cranking experience but not even they could manage that.

Ha! They are quite fun but I prefer a normal screwdriver for some reason. I tried my sonic one but it didn't work.

Flatpacks are better suited to things with fewest moving parts, like bookshelves.

Chests of drawers are horrible.

Use with caution as a lot of flat pack is laminated chip board/mdf and you can so very easily strip the hole out with an electric screwdriver.

Nope, not for me, and I have assembled many in my time.

I have assembled many in my time.

I'd rather have a set that lasts a long time than have to assemble many.

Maybe Herc just has lower standards? Pleased

Or a very big house!

Possibly a flat-pack house?

When you move house many times, the better half wants new furniture. :D
