Times please - including 4 Extra.

The Radio Circle says that the THAS broke their verbal agreement to honour the embargo. I guess collectors will not trust Hancock fandom again for a while.

No idea if there is anything to this, but the BBC published pages relating to the two programmes first.

I was a founder member of THAS (wasn't called that then, I seem to remember), back in the 70s, and left them a few years later, when it sort of got taken over by "others" and became very cliquey.

Somewhere I still have all the early correspondence (and the first "club" newsletters) between me and the BBC, who helped me get in touch with Dave Emery, I think his name was ,who appeared on the Nationwide programme, telling of his plans and urging the Beeb to release the Hancock archive.

And so it was born, with about four of us I think, and I was the tape librarian.

I wonder if Kenneth Williams "lost" the tape ?

Oooh, you are a one - nah, now stop messin' about

I'll try and set a reminder for myself to listen to that
My Dad was a big Hancock fan, so I used to get a few tapes for us to listen to back in the day and it stood up very well, the lad himself was very funny.
But I still couldn't quite get how big the show was back in it's day
IE people coming back from the pub just to listen to it.
Hancocks half hour is the best way to remember Tony, some of the rest of his story is a bit too sad

So your Dad a big fan of Hancock and Goons - are you sure it's not me? Son

(you found the Hancock thread, then) ?

Coming home on the bus this morning I passed close to Railway Cuttings but also the site of what used to be Harry Secombe's house over the road.

Wow - you didn't by any chance see Tony and Sid walking to the Hand and Racquet did you?
