I read the news today oh boy! Page 1,226

Tony Blair was in the Daily Mail today blaming Islam for Syrias revoloution.
And tangentally bigging up the BNP.

Bleurgh I thought my pad would melt.

I'm a staunch Labour man

But Tony Blair is a vile slice of putrid horse shit

A despicable excuse for a human being

I wish he would just shut his stupid gormless grinning mug and do everyone in the world a favor - and FUCK OFF

You have destroyed the real Labour party and your hands are dripping in the blood of thousands and thousands of dead Iraqis and Afghans

Continued electoral failure was behind Labours shift away from their roots towards the right. Blair just completed the process.

No point having great policies if no one votes for them

Sadly with the death of John Smith they also buried the real Labour Party

Sadly with the death of John Smith they also buried the real Labour Party

Kinnock, Hattersley and co. had already begun dismantling the Labour Party just to grab power

Labour hasn't had a true socialist leader since Michael Foot im guessing

I suppose by making Labor at least a credible alternative to the Conservatives he forced some degree of moderation,

I mean for all the principles of the 1980s Labor party, Thatcher could and did just ignore them

He didnt create an alternative though

He pretty much just cloned the Tory party so instead of a choice of left or right - we had right or right

Foot was never a credible leader, the longest suicide note in history was an apt description of the manifesto under him. Kinnock's manifesto was moderated but was still an agenda for left wing change and by today's standards truly radical. Tony Benn was responsible for splitting the party in an almost messianic power grab. People forget this now he is cuddly Uncle Tony, but he did a great deal of damage to the party in the eighties, mostly through naive political fundamentalism, giving the right the crack of light they needed to go beyond even the SDP's wildest dreams

Ha! Didn't know that

I've always liked Tony Benn too !

I'm very fond of Tony Benn myself, however finally reading Marx very late in life, long after becoming a Minister under Wilson, seems to have given him the zeal of the late conversion that was as destructive as it was naive

Frankly I think Tony Blair missed a trick when he didn't have Tony Benn hanged for high treason when he visited Sadam Hussein.

He is one of the revolting far left Laborites. Who gave Thatcher a free hand and utterly crippled the party.

Maybe he tried to talk some sense into Hussain?

Maybe he is a man of words & diplomacy first, rather than a lying warmongering murderer?

I'm guessing he didn't nip to Saddams for a few beers and a round of golf or two ?

Doesn't matter he offered succor to a man we were at war with.

Thats treason and he should have been hanged.

It's all gone down hill since then.

It's not to late.

I can't believe that anyone could knock the Blair government while living under this Condem coalition.
