Isn't vitriol a brand of toilet cleaner?

I was thinking. Ok so societal bullying and misunderstanding makes people more likely to commit suicide.

But what about gays and lesbians in Uganda, Iran or any other theocratic shit hole.

Where they are slandered in the most outrageous terms and face long prison sentences in death.

But I don't think there's a statistically significant spike in suicide rates.

I just think we're getting a tendency to label or not label mental illnesses as a result of societal prejudice or favour. Then pretend it's scientific/medical fact.

So if the link between bullying and suicide isn't that strong, something else must be more significant? You're saying the suicidal tendencies might come from within?

I think part of the problem is that along with all the prejudice against the transgender community, there is prejudice against mental illness, so whatever part that plays in all this is becomes doubly controversial; if indeed it plays any part at all.
