Ah. That puts an end to the 'Find Me Pictures of Tennant Naked' thread I was going to start.

I have put those on Ebay so you will have to bid alongside the other poor surfs

I thought I was special. :(

(someone has to!)

Victoria Wood in Housewife 49 capture this well, when she completely fails to recognise that her artist son is homosexual, despite him all but telling her.

Hyacinth Bucket.

There appear to be a lot of people who use these forums to gather information they are too lazy to explore or research themselves

Sorry Alan, but that's most of the reason the forums are here.

I still am angry that I will never see Sheridan.

I chose my word carefully ie surfing the internet

Daz!

I played the 'Pzazz' man in an extremely tongue-in-cheek Nativity production at school.

Oh is it I thought it was just to talk shite as usual :D

Did you do it like Shane Richie?

Ah, touché! :)

Probably in earlier sitcoms you need to be looking for the "single older man" or "confirmed bachelor" or "theatrical type" as code for being gay. Sykes's neighbour was possibly gay. Or not?

I think it was still Danny Baker when I played the character, but looking back on it, probably a bit, yes!

He would be about the last character I would have considered as being possibly gay. Surely just very stiff-upper-lip, traditionalist, etc? But hey, what do I know.

I remember doing a piece of telephone research for a lady who wanted to find out about sitcoms that used innuendo. She kept me on the phone for an hour and promised me a credit for the research. The documentary was called "Has Anyone Seen My Pussy" and the only research credit I saw was hers!

Yes, single older-man, confirmed bachelor - that must mean I am gay too!
